I didn't visit Missouri as such, more flirted with its borders! I had driven down through Iowa and was making for Lincoln, IL. On Lincoln's birthday, I seem to remember. Probably the reason I decided to drive so far in one day - I knew I wanted to stay in Lincoln or Springfield which I think is Lincoln's birth place. Anyhow, it was late afternoon as I stumbled into Missouri when I saw this truck grave yard by the side of the highway - the sun was out and up and so I spent about 40 minutes shooting them. It was largely fire trucks and the like. I have spent hours with Google's street view trying to track this place down, but, all I can tell you with any certainty is that it is on U.S. Highway 136 in the north of Missouri. I feel worthless, I have failed! There is only one thing for it, I shall have to return!
