More Cretan stuff - empty houses, dust, past lives, marks left by previous occupants. You know how it is. Nothing particularly remarkable about
this room. There were a few bits and bobs that seemed to indicate that it used to house a weaving loom of some kind. Either that or it was just used
to store the loom when it was taken to pieces. I think it was the light that caught my eye. Soft and welcoming I seem to remember. A welcome retreat
from the heat of the day, but, not without its hazards! These places being still always seem to have mosquitoes buzzing around!
The photograph was taken in the village of Tzermiado (Τζερμιάδο) which is situated within the wonderful Lassithi Plateau (Οροπέδιο Λασσιθίου). I visited the village on the last trip but didn't spend enough time there. I knew
that there was potential, so was pleased to find this. Here is also an aerial shot of both the plateau and the village.
You must have brought the bad weather with me
The sky's the colour of lead
All you've left me is a feather
On an unmade bed
