I've been pondering my route. So much of my trip I remember so vividly and yet other parts, I have a notion of and find it difficult to pull the detail together. I started looking at this shot having no idea where I had come from or where I was travelling to. I knew I was in bloody Iowa, but, other than that I was at a loss. A little detective work has revealed I was travelling between Winterset, IA and Carroll, IA. I certainly hadn't taken the most direct route, but, I had no idea where I was heading for anyway so I guess it didn't matter. I rolled into Bayard, IA in late afternoon, the winter sun was very low and was lighting up this sign a treat. Who wouldn't have stopped. For those with a love of all things maps and locations, here is an aerial view as well as a street view of Bayard, IA
Of all I knew, her held too few.
And would you stop me, if I try to stop you.
Old songs stay 'til the end.
Sad songs remind me of friends.
And the way it is, I could leave it all
And I ask myself, would you care at all.
When I drive alone at night, I see the street lights as fairgrounds
And I tried a hundred times to see the road signs as Day-Glo.
Old songs, stay till the end.
Sad songs, remind me of friends.
And the way it is, I could leave it all
And I ask myself, would you care at all.
