Well the site still isn't live....just a few little things to be done and I need the web design guy to put it live for fear that I will cock it up if I mess with it. I will be removing the whole of the previous gallery that only contains 35mm images anyway. It hasn't been updated in years and my processing skills weren't very good then so they don't look that good.....me skills haven't moved on that far but we learn all the time and I think the images are on the whole nicer these days. So if you have never browsed through my past then you have but a few days to do it before the lot goes! Also big thanks to those that have taken time to look at the new site and offer up any observations.
The weather here seems to be gradually warming up which is nice and on the whole is dry so I'm hoping it might hold out for this bank holiday weekend. Would be nice to be able to whip the garden into shape and get out to take a few photos. Perhaps even get a few more images processed and who knows even post a little more regularly!

Another from Crete and another from the mountain village of Μεταξοχώρι (Metaxochori) way out at the end of nowhere. An interesting place in that most of the houses are unoccupied due to damage...incredible damage to the walls and foundations to the point where they appeared to be slipping down the mountain. My immediate reaction was that at some stage there had been an earthquake...even if a small one but enough to dislodge the houses. I later found out that the village is built on a fault and is gradually slipping down the hill. Sad but I guess nature always has it's way in the end. This church looked old and was in a sorry state being almost split down the middle by the movement of the ground. It is very old and has the traditional stone room, large pieces of which had fallen in...very unstable and quite scary to go into...mainly because of the fear of being crushed to death should more of it fall. On previous visits this coffin lid was in a different position not making for a very interesting photo but someone had been there on this occasion and had moved stuff all over the place...perhaps they are going to make the place safe! Anyway, here you have the scene presented to me. Made me smile, perhaps I'll save the skeleton shots for another day. Fancy a wander around the area? Yeah of course you do! Here's an aerial view. I do have others from this village which I will post as and when.

Everything must change
Nothing stays the same
Everyone must change
No one stays the same

The young become the old
And mysteries do unfold
Cause that's the way of time
Nothing and no one goes unchanged

There are not many things in life
You can be sure of
Except rain comes from the clouds
Sun lights up the sky
And hummingbirds do fly

Winter turns to spring
A wounded heart will heal
But never much too soon
Yes everything must change

The young become the old
And mysteries do unfold
Cause that's the way of time
Nothing and no one goes unchanged

There are not many things in life
You can be sure of
Except rain comes from the clouds
Sun lights up the sky
And butterflies do fly

Rain comes from the clouds
Sun lights up the sky
And music
And music
Makes me cry
