Has spring arrived with you? It has here, the clocks changing seems to give a very different mood. The weather seems milder and bursting with life. I have a blackbird nesting the Pyracantha by the front door. She raised two broods last year. I left the nest as it was in beautiful condition but as so often is the case she decided that it wasn't good enough so has built another for this years babies. I know it is the same bird because she has a white patch above her eye....she is incredibly tame and like to root around in the dirt whilst you dig. I have been making sure there is lots of food for her in recent weeks to build her up so that she is 100% fit when it comes to egg laying. She seems to have been sitting tight for a few days so I assume if the mild weather continues she may lay soon. Watch this space for blackbird chick update!

My thoughts on posting seem all over the place at the moment so I will go with how I feel I think. This is another from my last trip and the only shot I took of a derelict windmill! One I had never photographed before so I guess that is something. It was a damn awkward place to clamber to. A place called Drassi (Δράσι), hardly a village just 2 houses on the main road with this elevated above. The loose scree was tricky to get a foot hold on so my time there was short. I'm sure at some stage that there was probably some kind of community here. I guess when the windmills fell into disrepair then the rest crumbled as well. For those with an interest here is an aerial view of the area.

It's not far down to paradise
At least it's not for me
And if the wind is right you can sail away
And find tranquillity
The canvas can do miracles
Just you wait and see
Believe me

It's not far to never never land
No reason to pretend
And if the wind is right you can find the joy
Of innocence again
The canvas can do miracles
Just you wait and see
Believe me

Sailing
Takes me away
To where I've always heard it could be
Just a dream and the wind to carry me
And soon I will be free

Fantasy
It gets the best of me
When I'm sailing
All caught up in the reverie
Every word is a symphony
Won't you believe me

It's not far back to sanity
At least it's not for me
And when the wind is right you can sail away
And find serenity
The canvas can do miracles
Just you wait and see
Believe me
