So many lovely comments today, you know I'll get around to saying thanks but I had the chance of a night out with me mate Danny! Drinks and fine conversation were the order of the day. We basically spend a lot of time taking the piss out of people who for various reasons are unable to defend themselves and then we do it a bit more. I never feel guilty about it as I assume it is happening to me at the same time somewhere...anyway it was good to see him as he always makes me smile and laugh, what more can I ask. We also discussed a forthcoming photographic project that will be exciting...I'll say no more other than you will know about it as soon as it happens. So late back and some simple rice and peas for supper and a bit more booze which may or may not make this post incomprehensible. I have promised myself I won't read it as I need bed and can't be doing with to many corrections! Thanks Dan, so good to see you mate and a great evening!

Another from Crete and another from the mountain village of Μεταξοχώρι (Metaxochori) way out at the end of nowhere. I can't imagine that they see tourists at all. An interesting place in that most of the houses are unoccupied due to damage...incredible damage to the walls and foundations to the point where they appeared to be slipping down the mountain. My immediate reaction was that at some stage there had been an earthquake...even if a small one but enough to dislodge the houses. I later found out that the village is built on a fault and is gradually slipping down the hill. Sad but I guess nature always has it's way in the end. This room and this bed I have photographed before and posted the results here. In fact the last shot of this bed is probably my favourite. I returned for a specific reason but was surprised to find that the furniture had been moved about a bit so it warranted another shot from a different angle. I know it was a long exposure that required me counting..pretty precise eh! Fancy a wander around the area? Yeah of course you do! Here's an aerial view. I do have others from this village which I will post as and when.

Put your hands on the wheel
Let the golden age begin
Let the window down
Feel the moonlight on your skin
Let the desert wind
Cool your aching head
Let the weight of the world
Drift away instead

These day I barely get by
I don't even try

Its a treacherous road
With a desolated view
There's distant lights
But here they're far and few
And the sun don't shine
Even when its day
You gotta drive all night
Just to feel like you're ok

These days I barely get by
I don't even try
