My motivation for posting was low last night I have to say. Well got involved in a long telephone conversation then I just really couldn't be assed! It's the weekend anyway and you'll all be out playing so no-one will notice!
The weather is playing all kinds of games to day...stiff breeze but was flipping between beautiful sunshine to hail the next followed by snow and then the damn sun again. Anybody know what the hell is going on? I only went in town for a hair cut....and boy did I need one! I think that was the longest my hair had been since 1980 well am pretty sure it was as it was 1980 I had it cut for the police. Enough was enough it needed taming, I was beginning to look like a member of the Hair Bear Bunch! Ah sweet 1971...I was into prog rock then so long hair was a must. Anyway, trimmed and under control.

Another from the last trip and a visit to the village of Exo Mouliana (Εξώ Μουλιανά). I was there during Apokreas (απόκριες) "Apokreas is Greece's Carnival season which precedes the 40 days of fasting that leads up to Easter. Like carnival season in places like New Orleans, Rio and the Carribean, Apokreas is a period of partying, eating, drinking, dancing and celebrating, though being Greece where eating, drinking and dancing is a nearly every night occurrence, it is taken to new levels during this period. The last two weeks of Apokreas are when it all comes to a head, particularly the weekends. The second Thursday before the end of Apokreas is called Tsikno Pempti and for the purists this is the day when you begin to wean yourself of the meat that you will be abstaining from until a minute after midnight on Easter Sunday."

I guess I ought to show you where Exo Mouliana (Εξώ Μουλιανά) is so here is an aerial view of the area.

Disclaimer: I know that Leonard Cohen wrote this and his version is wonderful. I just happen to like this as well. If you are distressed by the Jeff Buckley version I would advice you not to listen to it ;)

Well your faith was strong but you needed proof
You saw her bathing on the roof
Her beauty and the moonlight overthrew ya
And she tied you to her kitchen chair
She broke your throne and she cut your hair
And from your lips she drew the Hallelujah

Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah Hallelujah...

Listening to: "Hallelujah" (Grace) - Jeff Buckley
