Well I feel proper out of sorts. What with posting Sunday then not posting Monday I almost didn't again today. Quite easy to slip into that space where you seem to have more time but no I'm here and posting. Scanned my first log of negs on the new scanner today, it seems like an age. I had the damn thing for Christmas and the weather has conspired to stop me shooting so it has sat there but today I got to use it. Pretty damn fine I have to say, quick as a flash and great quality, I guess the only issue now is going to be dust and keeping it as dust free as possible or I will spend all my time spotting images. Still, I'm saving a stack of cash doing it this way, I'll have the damn thing paid for by the summer.
Thank you all for your very kind birthday wishes, not something I celebrate in any big way but of course I gratefully accept the presents that are thrown at me! A fine restful day was had even though I was trapped by the rain! Hey a post would be a post without mention of the damn rain!

The photo, well been looking at this taverna for quite a while. It appeared new but I have never seen it open for business. It is right alongside the new national highway and quite close to the coastal town of Hersonissos (Χερσόνησος). Perhaps they thought its proximity to the road would bring them trade when what people wanted was peace and quite not convenience. I posted a straight photo of this place a few weeks ago but took this double exposure at the same time. I must admit I usually leave these to chance but the geometry of the building and sign kind of lent itself to this and it pretty much came out as I imagined. Oh yes, here's an aerial view of the area.

If you like me won’t you stay a little while?
We could count the falling stars above our heads.
Will you walk with me another lonesome mile?
And if you should hear a distant voice
calling from the bottom of the well...
Well, it’s just me---I fell in years ago,
when I stumbled onto
the road that leads to heaven.

See the pretty cloud? It’s shaped just like a dove.
There is a gust of wind, now it’s a famous movie star...
it’s reminding me of someone I once loved...
another gust of wind,
and now it’s just a cloud again...
with so much wrote between the lines
you can go crazy trying to read the signs
on the road that leads to heaven.

And on the road map of my heart you are a city
throwing bright and shining lights into the sky
but this highway I am riding, it just goes on
passing by, sorry I
would love to
hold you in my arms
but today and always
I’m afraid...
Yes I’m afraid I’m on the road that leads to
heaven... .
