I've pondered what I have to say of late and it seems not a lot. I seem to tell you what isn't important and don't tell you what is. What's that all about? So for one evening only I bring you no rain, no illness and no booze. So today, I received a parcel, I bought two DVD's, two CD's took two pinhole Polaroids of myself and took two films for process. I also bought a book of poems. I feel the need for the weekend.
Don't forget to pop over to the annual Photomedia Center Holga show. I have two images up for grabs which are The Bride Of Christ and The Shape Of Things To Come. Be sure to also check out all the other great photos that are on offer there.

Just like a bus you don't see one for ages then you see two one after the other and so I torture you with another of the wonderful Motel Xenia in Amnisos (Αμνίσος, Κρήτη) Crete...derelict and beautiful. I know you have had the information below before but hey think about those poor unsuspecting first time visitors! I can't let them down...should one arrive! Anyway, there are a number in the series that can be seen easier if you pop over to Flickr. This is number 14 to be posted and I still have a few more up my sleeve. Designed by the architect ΑΡΗΣ ΚΩΝΣΤΑΝΤΙΝΙΔΗΣ (Aris Konstandinidis) (1913-1993). He worked for E.O.T (Greek Tourism Board) between 1957-1967. Today the motel just seems to sit and decay beautifully. I have no idea how long it has been empty nor how long it will be before they level the site. It's situated right on the beach front so one would think prime building land given that it is only about 15 minutes from the airport. I have even managed to find a decent aerial view of the place. So here is a map of the Motel Xenia. The cross shaped building is the centre of the complex.

And-ah... Anyways, lets see what else I-I, eh..
It was Coney Island, they called Coney Island the playground of the world.
There was no place like it, in the whole world.., like Coney Island when I was a youngster.
No place in the world like it!
It was so fabulous, now it's shrunk down to almost nothing, you see, eh-heh.
And I still remember, in my mind how things used to be.
And-ah you know I feel very bad.
But people from all over the world came here, from all over the world.
There was a playground they called the playground of the worlds, over here.
Anyways, so but I-ah you know.
i even got, when I was very small I even got lost in Coney Island.
But they found me. On the beach.
And we used to sleep on the beach here, sleep over night.
They don't do it anymore.. things changed.
They dont sleep anymore on the beach...
