Well my house feels like it is on an Island, the torrential rain last Friday caused extensive flooding with the local rivers bursting their banks and although they have dropped a little the bloody rain continues to fall and so there are flood warnings out all over the place. The waters look as though they are set to rise once more. I find the sight quite pretty and exciting from the relative safety of where my house is but I realise it is causing misery to many. I had intended to try and get some photos of it but at the moment the rivers are so damn high and the fields under water access is tricky to say the least. Once it has dropped a few feet and the sky lightens I intend to get out there.
Don't forget to pop over to the annual Photomedia Center Holga show. I have two images up for grabs which are The Bride Of Christ and The Shape Of Things To Come. Be sure to also check out all the other great photos that are on offer there.

Feel like I have been ignoring the UK a little of late. Probably because it's been to bloody miserable to go out, but what are archives for if not to help us in desperate times. This was taken last winter or very early spring near the village of Stanton St. Bernard in Wiltshire. It was to be the scene of a walk with a couple of fellow photobloggers but it wasn't to be, yes you guessed it rain halted play. I decided to take a drive out there and see what it was like. Hardly conducive to photography but the rain did stop long enough for me to take a few shots. If you have an interest here is an aerial view. X kind of marks the spot this was taken from.

there are no trains that leave from the maze
my only chance was a ship to escape
if you are the light house in the storm
I'll be the ship with a thousand dead souls
how long will they believe in a light so dim
down in the gallows the darkness glows
it was hard to see in the hearts of them
if you see a light call down below
I'll be moving and sorting out our fears
how long will we believe in a light so dim
cause time is all we have so make the time
throw down the line I'll see to climb
if it's held close it may just work
if you are the light house in the storm
I'll be the ship filled with a thousand dead souls
and time is all we have so take the time
to make the time and make time to take the time
