I contemplated saying nothing tonight, mainly because it has been an uneventful weekend. Did some gardening and went to a concert of early Baroque music at Bath Abbey...which was very beautiful. Three female singers called Tarquinia backed by authentic period instruments...not amplified and in the setting of Bath Abbey was just beautiful. The concert was in aid of the charity for whom I work. A good turn out and well a good evening was had. I indulged myself with a Chinese takeaway after as it didn't finish until nearly 10 and there was no way I wanted to start cooking at that time...damn YUMMY! The portions are always so big, I feel compelled to eat it, the pig that I am!
Today was the gardening day...such a bloody mess. I had no idea that there were so many leaves in the world. I spent 4 hours picking them up and well....lets just say that there are more. I knew there was a perfectly good reason for living in a flat.
That's it...images prepared for printing...long overdue gifts, payment and stuff like that. I really wish I wasn't so lazy...wish I had energy and motivation. Perhaps one just needs to get on with it and not view motivation as a thing you acquire. Dunno, anyhow I did get images ready for printing so I did something.
I now have all my films back from this last visit to Crete...what a relief to have everything back and no major cock ups by the lab...sigh! And so tonight's is from that batch. The Greeks are usually very good at securing their abandoned buildings so I was delighted as I pushed the door on this empty hotel to see it was open and the interior interesting and vast. It's name the Minoan Prince Hotel. I was surprised to find that there is still a website in existence for it! Take a look here at the home page and see the hotel in it's former glory! Call me weird but I kind of preferred how I found it...gracefully decaying. It looked as if it had been closed for ages but the web page suggests otherwise. For those of you with an interest here is an aerial view as well. A return visit at some stage I would think!
