Well this morning was beautiful, a true autumnal morning, fog obscuring the view beyond 50 yards and a stillness in the air that was wonderful. A chill also that seems to have kick started the leaves falling from the trees. The fog appears so rarely these days. I used to love it as a kid....not sure if it was fog or air pollution but I loved it regardless. Especially at night when we would go out with torches, the beam cutting through it like a knife. Climate change seems to have put pay to those times but the odd day really rekindles those memories. The weather people promised warm and sunny this afternoon...they were right. So beautiful, like summer had made a one off guest appearance...damn it was good. A few more to last beyond the weekend would be fab!
Now I hate to mention it and it's not my doing but they have started to mention Christmas at work! Well they kinda got to as the Christmas meal needs to be arranged. Shit October and we are talking about where and whether there should be a secret Santa thing or pass the parcel. The trouble is once it has been suggested to me I'm off.....I'll start listening to Christmas songs and shit! Anybody want any Christmas MP3's? It was a joke alright, you email me for any and I'll have to kill a member of your family! Now stop it I don't have any.

This image was taken just outside the village of Fourni (Φουρνή). I am always drawn to the more unconventional view of the island if possible and as there is rather a lot of rubbish dumped around I kinda like to photograph it in the context of a beautiful landscape. We all need little photographic projects or you seem to just wander aimlessly, hell I do enough of that in the evening after a drink or three!
For those with an interest here is an aerial shot of the area, the photo was taken from the building bottom left of the image, Fourni can be seen to the right.
