Out Of Sight, Out Of Mind Was The Sentiment In Fourni (Φουρνή, Κρήτη) Crete

We seem to have moved into a lovely dry spell of weather which gladdens my heart and warms my bones all at the same time! It means I can walk to or from work...or indeed both and generally be a happy bunny. I think we are set through the weekend as well so that pleases me even more.
I'm a little disappointed in myself today as I cancelled my Greek lesson, it was unavoidable but still sits rather uncomfortably. I have enough trouble with motivation as it is so a break in proceedings doesn't do me a lot of good. Still lets look on the bright side and think that it gives me an extra week to study...that's the thing where I get books out and read right? Now where were those books!
OK I have new glasses, free test and now £10 for glasses and I'm sorted until I get lenses in my others. I have to say the world seems a brighter place today. I'm almost frightened to adjust any images for fear I will make them look all different. I had better have a play for a few days.

OK today's image is another from the most recent visit to Crete. Photography was slow on this holiday due to the excessive temperatures for about 5 days 44 in the shade I seem to remember. Almost every image was taken on the way to or from the beach. The promise of immersing myself in cold water was the only thing that would make me drag my lazy ass out of the house. This image was taken just outside the village of Fourni (Φουρνή). I am always drawn to the more unconventional view of the island if possible and as there is rather a lot of rubbish dumped around I kinda like to photograph it in the context of a beautiful landscape. We all need little photographic projects or you seem to just wander aimlessly, hell I do enough of that in the evening after a drink or three!
For those with an interest here is an aerial shot of the area, the photo was taken from the building bottom left of the image, Fourni can be seen to the right. Both are very close to the windmills I posted the other day.

You did know that there was a competition going on didn't you? No? Well get yourself back there and enter. Top prize is a print and life long friendship from me. I'm even contemplating offering a 2nd and 3rd prize. Pondering that one. After such a promising start the guesses seem to have dried up, shame really. I guess most of you are my friends already so no prize there. Why not guess to make me happy?

He has a router
And a table saw... and you
Won't believe what Mr. Sticha saw
There's poison underneath the sink
Of course... But there's also
Enough formaldehyde to choke
A horse... What's he building
In there. What the hell is he
Building in there? I heard he
Has an ex-wife in some place
Called Mayors Income, Tennessee
And he used to have a
consulting business in Indonesia...
but what is he building in there?
What the hell is building in there?
