I was going to launch a new competition tonight, my first competition but I have decided to leave it until tomorrow, Friday. It seemed a more fitting day to do it, what with it being the end of the working week and all. Make sure that you bring your invite along if you are coming for the launch, there will be food, booze and probably a raffle. Your ticket will entitle you to all. Shall we say 7.30 for 8? Wear a pair of comfy shoes because you will probably be dancing all night, I know I shall. Yes I know a lot of you are worried about your posts but you will just have to leave it for a night. This will be a proper fancy party with glitter and everything.
I have discussed it with James over at Plasticfantastic. He is currently experiencing a bad competition off the back of a good one. I think he knows why, we have talked about it and mine will be different, you will all be clambering to enter. So come back tomorrow, you'll need to do some research if you are going to win!

Well today was a work day but I didn't have to go to work. Fab eh? I work for a charity called Julian House. They provide support for homeless men and women in Bath and the surrounding area. Each year they do a 'circuit of Bath' walk to help raise funds. As the name suggests it is a walk around Bath. The walk circles Bath, it has been divided up into manageable stretches so people can walk as little or as much as they like. The event is due to take place in September but of course we need to check the route to make sure nothing has changed and that all of our directions still work. So today I got to walk one of the stages instead of going to work! It was a beautiful day and a beautiful walk. All told I think I have walked about 8 miles what with getting to the start doing the walk and then getting myself back home so you can imagine this orange juice is sliding down a treat!

Today's image is one of a series that I took on the last trip to Crete. This is the local high school in the town of Neapoli (Νεάπολη). A more depressing school I think I couldn't find....it was empty due to the holidays.....it was stark and dirty, it reminded me very much of communist East Germany. However the photos seem to present it as something else and it looks kind of pretty...perhaps it's that damn Astia making it look nice. Anyway this is one of many that will be posted eventually. For those with an interest here is an aerial shot of the school, the building can be seen in the centre of the photo. Neapoli is off to the right if you want to take a look.

Betty said she prayed today
For the sky to blow away
Or maybe stay
She wasn't sure.

For when she thought of summer rain
Calling for her mind again
She lost the pain
And stayed for more.
