Well what a bloody miserable weekend weather wise! It rained all day on Saturday where I was forced to go and look at sofas! And of course because it was raining the rest of the world was doing the same. Then we had to consider carpets, curtain ties..are you beginning to get my drift? I was all for eating my own arm to avoid it. Still all sorted in a very short space of time and I need no longer think or speak of it.
I was ready for a brighter Sunday, who knows the chance of some blue sky. The weather people promised the earth and were way off. Grey and drizzle, if I hadn't eaten my arm yesterday I would have done it today, I have to keep one you understand, shutters and all that. So it's been me, an ipod ravenous for cds, a whole bunch of Greek verbs and some alcohol. Damn fine, could someone please wake me for work in the morning?

Today's image is from my trip to Crete at Easter and I'm sorry another derelict windmill. Hell, I didn't ought to be apologising yet I have a stack more of these to work into you as and when. The Cretan landscape is littered with these and I really can't help myself when it comes to photographing them. It usually involves the loss of skin getting to them but always worth it. I guess it is testament to how the wind blows on Crete the fact that there were so many of them. These days the modern wind farm is cropping up here there and everywhere....no match for these in the attractiveness stakes in my opinion. This one is part of a little group of six that are perched on the hillside above the village of Limnes (Λίμνες) and if you have an interest here is an aerial shot of the area. Limnes is off to the left a way.
