The start of a new regime today....I always post at about midnight but of course leave all the writing and choosing of images until then as well and end up crawling into bed at some ungodly hour...then believe it or not I am a little grumpy the next day. That has been the way of things for over a year now. The intention was with the new job...seeing as I only work four bloody hours a day, to come home at about 2pm and do all that things that make me tired at 12. Sounds great in practice...have I been doing it? Have I buggery. So today I am, here I am sat here typing and looking at images and it is still light, I feel like a freak, will it change what I have to say, or what indeed I post...frankly I'm a bit scared but I figured at 49 I should be able to brave up to it...how am I doing? If you fancy giving me a call and talking me through it or at least giving me words of encouragement I would be grateful. You don't have to do it every night...just to ease me in you understand.

Today's photo is another from the most recent trip to Crete and in particular from the Elounda (Ελούντα) area, a town I have already revealed I don't like but I have to say the coast there is so beautiful. From the photo you can see the island of Spinalonga, the fortress is just out of sight. I guess at some stage I ought to post a photo of the fortress for you....One of these days...you mark my words. I won't spout on about Spinalonga on this occasion but if you have an interest in the history of Venetian Crete and it's ultimate fall to the Turkish then here is something to perhaps encourage you to read on. Here is a history of Venetian Crete.
As always I have tried to find a decent aerial shot of the area for you so have a wander and enjoy!

Why not spread some love today as we have two birthdays to celebrate. Angie over at Pinkie Style and Mike over at The Fiery Scotsman. Why not drop by, say hi, wish them a happy birthday. I have no idea if they are related...perhaps separated at birth! I'll let you ask the sensitive questions.

OK guys the Photoblogawards have kicked in. If you have a mind to vote for people then here is a shortcut there!
