Yeesh what a day. In my usual way I have left the organisation of my advance postings during the Crete trip way to late but today was going to be the day to organise all the images and the text etc. I was just gearing up to it when the power went out. We regained partial power but the PC wouldn't boot so I thought it had blown up or something. Back off Phil with long stick poking it in the hope it would work! It would appear we weren't back to full power. So after an hour all is well....now the damn computer wouldn't connect to the internet. Three bloody hours trying to get the router to connect...nothing! Reset to factory defaults, reconfigure....not a damn thing. Just as we were about to go out for a meal I tried one last re-boot and it connected! Wonderful news in many ways but I have lost half a day. In many ways it would have been easier if it had been buggered, I would have to have left it until I returned...so much easier. Tomorrow will be a pain now. Still 2 weeks of bliss to follow!
I have now eaten way too much and feel very fat...luckily I didn't drink too much for once so at least am able to chuck a post up for you.

Apologies but today's image is yet another from my wander around the Motel Xenia...derelict and beautiful. I make no apologies...I love the place and feel good documenting it before it disappears. Designed by the architect Aris Konstandinidis (1913-1993). He worked for E.O.T (Greek Tourism Board) between 1957-1967. Today the motel just seems to sit and decay beautifully. I was back there at Easter to try and capture more of it's spirit before it is levelled!. I have even managed to find a decent aerial view of the place. So here is a map of the Motel Xenia. The cross shaped building is the centre of the complex.

Fathers day here in the UK not sure about the rest of the world. If it was with you then I hope you had a great one and were treated like a king even if it all came out of your pocket! I love the song I have put up today kinda has a father son theme that you might enjoy. So nip over to YouTube for a listen.

BBC correspondent Alan Johnston was abducted in Gaza on 12th March 2007. Why not sign the Petition in the hope that it will assist with his early release.

I've long since retired, my son's moved away
I called him up just the other day
I said, "I'd like to see you if you don't mind"
He said, "I'd love to, Dad, if I can find the time
You see my new job's a hassle and kids have the flu
But it's sure nice talking to you, Dad
It's been sure nice talking to you"

And as I hung up the phone it occurred to me
He'd grown up just like me
My boy was just like me
