Well it's been a steamy weekend here.....steamy isn't generally good but if it equals warm and no rain then I will put up with steamy and humid. I didn't really achieve that much to be honest as I have been wallowing in the fact I have a job and so don't need to bother myself with looking. A little holiday in just over a week then back to a new part time job...sweet! It will be good to have the money coming in I must say. My days/weeks have also been lacking some structure I have to say, the less I have to do the more time it takes me to do what I have to do...does that make any sense at all? So much time, so many plans. Nothing achieved. It's almost as if you need the lack of time to motivate you to get stuff done, but whatever you do don't interpret that as me liking work OK!
So tonight we had Octopus for supper along with other stuff. I love it and in Crete make it my business to eat it everyday if it is on the menu at the restaurant we happen to be at! This was the first time I had bought and prepared it in the UK. I got the little blighter out of the bag...thank god he was dead or I may have lost him in the fridge. I had no idea how to deal with one so it was all based on what I usually get on my plate in Crete and anything that looked as if it didn't ought to be eaten...well it wasn't! It was yummy....grilled to a turn, my only regret was having to share him.

I'm not 100% sure exactly where today's photo was taken. I do know it was back in March and that it was near the small town of Kastelli (Καστέλλι) just to west of the Lasithi Plateau (Οροπέδιο Λασιθίου). Spring is the most beautiful time in Crete, so green and so full of flowers before the heat of summer strangles the landscape of colour. Here is an aerial shot of the area, if you pan right and over the mountain range you can see the plateau in all of it's glory.

BBC correspondent Alan Johnston was abducted in Gaza on 12th March 2007. Video was released in the past few days of him by his captors but still more pressure is needed on the various governments to act. Why not sign the Petition in the hope that it will assist with his early release.
