Well we both seem to have survived the freezer burned meat! There was no kind of awful revenge! Digestion seems 100% and for that I am eternally thankful. I'll need to be careful though or I may turn into some kind of expired food fiend! I've always been one for using stuff way past it's sell and use by date. I tend to apply the rule if it smells OK then it probably is and that we pamper our bodies way to much, a bit of bacteria is actually good for us and that part of the reason the world is gone crazy with instances of asthma, hayfever and a host of other allergies and skin conditions is because we are obsessed with cleanliness. We seem to be forever buying sterile wipes, washing things down, sterilising them...you get the drill. I never throw cheese out...just keep cutting the mould off and away you go. So, anyone fancy coming around for supper? I am a very good cook but no moaning about what we eat or wanting to look in the fridge OK?
Friday eh! most of you are excited I must say I miss that excited feeling when the weekend arrives, still I am enjoying the being at home as well...so I guess there's no pleasing me eh? Just me and Timmy B the cat...and a bottle of booze tonight. He's started being a little sick...he has a thyroid problem and is on drugs, consequently his weight is up and down like a fiddlers elbow. One day he likes what you give him then he ignores the food...then you give him something new which he devours and then throws up. I need Jan here really as I don't do animal stuff...front or back end, probably part of the reason we never had kids. God I can barely look after myself. Anyway he likes to get on the bed when I get in to bed...he says hi...has a cuddle for 5 minutes, lays down, purrs a lot then when I turn the light out he gets down...that's my sort of cat!

It's a Bank Holiday weekend in the UK so the roads will be stacked high......cars nose to tail. It's a shame really, we have had weeks and weeks of dry weather and they have forecast rain for Sunday and Monday. I hope that you are proud of me for not moaning about that! I've had to nail my tongue to the desk...however I can't promise that after the weekend I won't be going on about it. Anyway, whether you are on holiday or not this weekend have a great one....get outside and take pictures.

This is another from my Easter trip to Crete and the same set of derelict windmills as I posted back in March. I took a stack of them on this last trip so you will be well pissed off with them eventually. Even though 99% of those you see are derelict on closer inspection the quality of the building has to be seen to be believed. I have rarely seen mortar each stone seems to be held in place by the next. The window and door frames on the exterior are perfectly square and flat yet when you look inside you can still see how they were hand carved as the shape of the original stone has been left inside as this wasn't visible....wonderful things I just hope that they do something with them before they all fall down. Anyhow here is a little aerial view of where they are. If you look carefully on the map it appears as if there were 13 or so there at one stage. Have a pan out and a browse about.....the two villages the south of the windmills are Kastelli(Καστέλλι) on the left and Fourni(Φουρνή) to the right.

OK I thought a little blatant self promotion was in order, so I have posted a photo over at JPG Mag if you dig it then tell them!
