Well the cold air has at last moved in to make it at least feel like autumn.....not before time as well. I love the heat and like to prolong summer as long as possible but hell it's not warm so lets get cold and get the bloody leaves off of the trees! My lawns and hedges are still growing with a passion so lets stop it now!
I was all prepared tonight for the young things coming to the door...I had candy of all sorts to tempt them. I had my SX-70 at the ready to record the moment. Did they come?...did they hell! Two 15 year olds with outfits that were frankly pitiful! And you know what it upset me...sad I know but it did. I could hear the sound of kids laughing and screaming...I looked out of the window and could see that some well meaning parent had decided that a big party at one house was better and perhaps safer than chancing it door to door. Silly really when it has come to this...everyone scared of their own shadow and they say we have progressed...have I missed something?
