I have meaning to post this shot for ages, it one of the most popular Byzantine monuments in Crete. It would seem it is for those of you in the know a triple-nave Byzantine church from the 13th - 14th Century. It is dedicated to the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, to Saint Anthony and Saint Anna. All I know being a heathen is that there some very pretty pictures (frescoes) painted on the wall! The experts say probably the best of their type in Crete.

Being so well photographed it wasn't an obvious choice but I loved the timeless feel that it had. I guess it was that spirit that I was attempting to capture.
