Politics is never far away in Crete, bus shelters in the middle of nowhere, garage doors, house walls you can usually find in most towns and villages reference to one political party or another. Even in the smallest of villages, Kafenions are very often frequented according to your political preference.

OK an update on the information above. I have received an email from someone far more in the know than I and it would appear that IEK refers to some kind of educational vocational qualification and that the second word 'Praksi' means ACTION but in fact refers to a particular institution.
